**Tell us a little about yourself and your side hustle.**
I’m Morgan, and I blog at morganmwoods.com. I started matched betting back in 2016, and it’s been a great boost to my monthly income ever since.
**How long have you been doing your side hustle? How did you get into it?**
I’ve been matched betting since November 2016. My family and I had just moved, it was almost Christmas, and we were in debt with no money for presents. I discovered matched betting, took a chance, and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made!
**What does the work actually involve? What does a typical day look like for you?**
Matched betting involves taking advantage of the free bets offered by bookmakers. It might seem complicated at first, but once you start placing your first few bets, it becomes clearer. I usually spend about 2-3 hours each week going through offers and placing bets. The weekends and big events like Cheltenham or the World Cup are the best times.
**How much can you make doing matched betting?**
As of August 2018, I had made over £10,000 since starting matched betting. Now, I guess it’s around £15,000. I typically make about £500-£750 each month, which is pretty good for the time I invest.
**Are there any start-up costs or ongoing expenses with this side hustle?**
You’ll need at least £60 to start matched betting for your initial bets. A membership to a matched betting website like Profit Accumulator (now Outplayed.com) is also very helpful. Your profits add up quickly once you get started.
**What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?**
Take your time with your first few bets but try not to overthink it. It will seem tricky and confusing at first, but using a matched betting tool will really help.
