Spare5 App Review: Earning Potential in Just Five Minutes

### What is Spare5?

Spare5 is an app that pays you small amounts of money for completing quick “micro-tasks” on your phone. Most tasks only take a few seconds and typically pay between $0.02 and $0.05 each. The idea is to use your spare five minutes to earn a bit of extra cash.

### What kind of tasks are available?

The tasks on Spare5 are quite varied. Some examples include conducting mock web chat conversations, drawing polygons to outline shapes, identifying colors and prints of clothes in pictures, identifying parts of speech in sentences, and writing questions and answers for a science quiz. Spare5 earns money by selling the data you generate to companies working on machine learning projects.

### How much can you make?

I’ve been using Spare5 for about three weeks and have made a total of $14.44. I likely spent between 90 minutes and two hours on the app in small chunks to make this amount, which averages out to less than minimum wage. While you won’t get rich using this app, it’s not a bad way to make a little extra money during your downtime.

### Cashing out

Anyone can use Spare5, no matter where they are, as long as they have a PayPal account. Payments are made in USD directly to your PayPal account every week with no transfer fee, and the minimum payout is just $1. You don’t need to request payment; it will be automatically transferred as long as you have at least $1 in your account. The payment system is smooth and reliable, which is one of the best features of the app.

### Bonus cash!

If you sign up using my referral link, you can earn an extra $1 for every $10 you make, up to the first $100. Full disclosure: I’ll also earn a bonus on your earnings if you sign up with my link, but it won’t cost you anything extra. Once you’re a member, you can get your own referral code to share with friends and make even more extra cash.

### My experience with Spare5

I’ve made over $14 using Spare5 in time that would have otherwise been wasted, and I’m pretty happy with that. The main issue is that there aren’t enough tasks available to make significant money. I checked the app several times a day when I first started, but sometimes went days without seeing any tasks. Occasionally, I’d get alerts about new tasks, but they’d be gone by the time I logged in.

You also have to complete unpaid qualifying tasks before you’re eligible for paid ones. Initially, I thought I’d only need to do one set of qualifiers, but it turns out each new task often has its own qualifier. This means you can spend a lot of time on unpaid tasks before you get to the paid ones.

Overall, I think the app has great potential, and I’ll keep an eye on it in hopes that they add more tasks in the future. For now, though, I’m getting a bit tired of spending time on unpaid qualifiers. There are currently better ways for me to focus my money-making efforts.

### Boost My Budget Rating

3/5

I’ll probably keep the app on my phone and check in occasionally, but I won’t rely on it to make a significant impact on my budget. If you’re looking to earn more than $14 in your spare time, my top recommendation is Outplayed.com for matched betting.
