Qmee Review: Earn While You Surf the Web?

### What is Qmee?

Qmee is a browser app that lets you earn money by browsing the web and clicking on ads. When you search on Google or Amazon, a special Qmee sidebar might pop up if your search matches a product promoted by one of their partners. This sidebar shows featured ads that either pay you a small fee to click on them or offer a discount shopping code.

Qmee claims it doesn’t alter your search results. Based on my experience, this seems true. The Google search page remains unchanged, and Qmee’s results appear in a separate sidebar. You can also earn money by completing surveys on their website.

### Show Me the Money

How much can you make with Qmee? Individual ads pay between £0.04 and £0.08. However, paid ads are rare, and you can usually click on a maximum of two ads per session. I only found one survey, which promised £0.54 for 15 minutes of my time.

The main advantage of Qmee is that you can cash out any time with no minimum amount. Your earnings are paid to PayPal and clear instantly.

### My Experience

I’m not impressed with Qmee. After using it for two weeks, I made only £0.42 despite making an effort to do Qmee-friendly searches. Paid searches are very few and far between. I tried searching for luxury goods and services, hoping to find more paid ads, but the results were disappointing. Most of the time, I got no results or just discount codes instead of paid ads.

It feels like Qmee could tell I was trying to game the system and limited my results. Unless you do a lot of online shopping naturally, you won’t make much money with Qmee.

### Surveys

Every time I opened my computer, Qmee notified me about available surveys. But whenever I clicked through, the surveys were gone. I only managed to catch one survey, but I had technical issues halfway through and couldn’t finish it.

### What Are They Hiding?

Qmee feels a bit scammy. While I did receive the money I earned, the website is vague and hard to navigate. For example, they claim some users earn thousands by referring friends, but the details are buried and unclear. Similarly, they mention you can request payment in gift cards but don’t specify which shops or any conditions attached to the gift cards.

Overall, it feels like too much effort for very little reward. I’ll probably uninstall Qmee now that I’ve given it a shot.

### Pros

– Cash out any time to PayPal with instant payments
– No minimum withdrawal amount
– Option to donate your earnings to charity

### Cons

– Very little earning potential
– Almost no paid ads or surveys
– Vague website with unanswered questions
– Waste of time

### Boost My Budget Rating: 1/5

At 42p after two weeks, Qmee is not worth the time it took to install. Your time is better spent on other ways to earn money from home, like matched betting or testing websites.

***UPDATE 15 January 2017: I didn’t uninstall Qmee but stopped actively using it. Since then, I’ve made about £1 a month just from my usual Google searches. It’s not much, but I’ve decided to keep Qmee around just in case.***
