Lately, I’ve been loading my iPhone with apps that help make some extra money. We all spend a lot of time on our phones, so why not get paid for it?
This week, I’ve been enjoying an app called OnePulse.
### What is OnePulse?
OnePulse is an app where you take short surveys, called ‘Pulses,’ for money. These surveys are always a maximum of three questions long and are multiple choice. You simply tap your answers on the screen, and you’re done—no lengthy written responses required.
This is a relief compared to those lengthy 90-question surveys that take forever to complete! The topics usually cover current trends, brands, and news. After answering, you can see the survey results, which can be interesting. There’s often a link to the brand’s website or news story, but I usually skip these since I think they should pay extra for clicking on ads!
The app is quite active, with new Pulses appearing throughout the day.
### Getting Paid
There are two types of Pulses: paid and unpaid. You can easily tell them apart because the paid ones clearly display the payment amount, usually 15p or 20p. Considering each Pulse takes less than a minute, this is pretty good! Sometimes, there are even one-question Pulses that pay 20p, which takes just a couple of seconds to complete.
You need to have at least £5 in your account to cash out. When you’re ready, just click on the cash sign in your profile, and the money is instantly transferred to your PayPal account. There is a small 10p transaction fee, which I found out only after cashing out.
### My Experience
My initial experience with OnePulse wasn’t great. At first, all my Pulses were unpaid and focused on brands, which I found annoying. I didn’t like being directed to brand websites after every survey. After a few days without earning any money, I gave up.
A couple of weeks later, I decided to give it another try and read more about how it works. I learned that the more Pulses you answer, the more you receive, and you earn experience points for each survey. The more points you have, the quicker you get access to paid Pulses. I also realized you don’t have to click through to the brand site; you can just go back to the main screen.
I decided to give it another shot and answered every Pulse that came my way. Within 3 or 4 days, I started getting more paid Pulses, and my balance grew quickly. From the time I committed to OnePulse, it took about 10 days to reach the £5 minimum balance. Sometimes I get 4 or 5 paid Pulses in a day, sometimes none. But since each one takes just seconds, it’s not a big time commitment.
Now that I’m getting paid Pulses, I really enjoy the app. The questions are interesting, and I love that each survey is only three questions long and that you never get screened out. It’s a nice quick distraction when I need a mini break from work.
Overall, I like OnePulse a lot more than other apps like Spare5, where I haven’t had any tasks in ages and am stuck just below the withdrawal threshold. For now, OnePulse is my go-to.
